“Tsunami relief - support and report”

in Sri Lanka

Welcome to the homepage of the project "Tsunami Relief - Support and Report" in Sri Lanka. The project started in July 2005 and was set up by the Global Education Network of Young Europeans (GLEN). GLEN is a network of different organizations of eight European countries.

Three participants from Poland, Latvia and Germany were based in Thirukkovil and worked in the Ampara district of Sri Lanka till December 2005. The Ampara district was affected the most by the tsunami in 2004. The GLEN Team was cooperating with the local organization SWEIDO Vision (Social Welfare, Economic and Industrial Development Organization).

This homepage is set up to give you an overview about our actvities regarding the project and time we spent in Sri Lanka. It also gives an overview about our activities after our return to Europe.

In the "About Project" section you will find a detailed project description, profiles of the GLEN participants and the list of project sponsors. You can read the different reports of the GLEN Team as well as the personal entries from the participants in the project diary. In the "Photos" section you will be able to enter a photo gallery and to see photo stories about our projects.
